Roy’s Blog: “Driving on the Edge”

1 Peter 5:7  “Cast all your anxiety on Him.”

It is amazing and sometimes terrifying to watch trucks as they travel through the high mountain passages in South America. Single-lane dirt roads wind through sharp grades and curves with no side rails and very little room. The cliffs are unforgiving and steep. Rock slides are common, destroying portions of the road. There’s no room to back up. Two-way traffic on a narrow road adds to the hazard.

Sometimes our lives seem to be on the edge of the cliff. We’ve gotten so far, and we’re afraid to go on. We can’t back up. We’ve looked around and seen all the dangers we didn’t see when we started out, because we didn’t stop to think, or pray about it. We didn’t go to God before we started the journey.

It’s not too late. Matthew 11:28  “Come to me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

Isaiah 41:10  “So do not fear, for I am with you: do not be dismayed for I am you God. I will strengthen you and help you: I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Luke 12:31-32a  “Seek His kingdom and these things will be added to you. Don’t be afraid…”
