Roy’s Blog: “Lost”

2 Thessalonians 2:3 (NASB) “Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first.”

The day of the Lord won’t occur without a deliberate abandonment of the Bible–apostasy or apathy for the Word of God.

The family is pulled apart from every direction. Love and security have been replaced by secularism, pushing God and His word out of our homes. Our society no longer supports the foundation of our nation–God and the family unit.

Parents allow their families to be tugged in all directions. One child goes one way for a function, another goes in a different direction. The parent is pulled in another direction. Satan wants you to be busy. Too busy to be a family and too busy to study and worship God together. All the programs and functions may be good, wonderful programs, but if they pull your family away from home every night, you’re too busy. Choose. No one says you have to be in everything, do everything. Make time for your family at home before the opportunity is lost and you only have regrets.

The world will entice you with good things. Most parents won’t send their child to something they know to be bad. Satan uses that. He uses your desire to see your child be popular and have diverse interests.

You have to stop and take stock of how important these things really are. Do they include all family members or do they pull your family further apart? Don’t use them as baby-sitters. You need to be involved in your children’s lives. The world wants to pull your child away from you and from God.

We see apostasy becoming stronger everyday, because we have left God out of our family life.
