Roy’s Blog: “Now I See”

John 9:25  “…one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”

This beggar that Jesus told to go wash in the pool of Siloam could have done like so many and thought how stupid the instructions were. It was too easy. Something so simple couldn’t be a cure for blindness. Yet, he followed Jesus instructions, having faith that Jesus was telling him the right thing to do and because of that faith, he received his sight.

Many times the Lord desires to work miracles in our lives, if we would just be obedient and do the simplest task He asks of us. The blind man received his sight. He no longer had to beg for food. His life was miraculously transformed.

The simplest thing sometimes can be the hardest for us. We expect to have to do more, put out some tremendous effort on out part or it won’t work–won’t be enough. Because the Lord’s instructions seem too simple, we don’t follow them, and we miss out on wonderful blessings.

The little things, done in obedience to the Lord, will work miracles that can transform our lives: the little words of love and understanding, the little time of comfort and care, the little time of remorse and change of direction.

If we follow the simple instructions God gives us every day, we can see miracles happen, not just in our lives but in the lives of those around us.

“…though I was blind, now I can see.”
