Roy’s Blog: “The End of the Rope”

Psalm 40:2 “He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay.”

There are so many things that drag us down. It seems whether it is a bad bug or a worn out body, we find ourselves needing help to get up. Youth is fleeting and soon we spend more and more time pondering how fast we used to get up after the latest sickness or injury. We don’t jump back as fast–it’s more a rung by rung climb. It can be depressing.

I’m so thankful the Lord is always there. Even when I feel I’m at the end of my rope, He lifts me up and sustains me.

As David said long ago, “You, O Lord, are a shield about me…the one who lifts me up.”  Psalm 3:3
