Luke 24:25 “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken.”
Late in the day on the first Resurrection Sunday, two of Jesus followers were walking near Jerusalem to Emmaus. While they were on the road talking over all that had hap[pened that day, Jesus showed up and started walking beside them, but they didn’t recognize him.
Jesus listened to them talk, then asked them what they were talking about. With sorrow, they recounted Jesus’s arrest and execution.
“We had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.” (Luke 24:21)
He responded to them, “You foolish men and slow of heart…”
Their ignorance was not from lack of intelligence. It was because they failed to understand the times. They looked at the times from a human perspective, not from a divine perspective.
Today, so many are foolish and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken and to understand the times from a biblical view.
