If you are a believer:
Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow (you) all the days of (your) life, and (you) will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
A lot of people spend their lives fearful about what’s going to happen tomorrow. They never enjoy today because of the worry looming over their heads.
As David concludes Psalm 23, he is not worried–even if ‘walking through the valley of the shadow of death’. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
He’s not saying that only goodness will follow him. Bad things happen to good people. But, God will bring good out of the things that happen to him and us. We may suffer heartache and pain, but ultimately God will bring good to follow.
Jesus suffered greatly, but the good to follow for us cannot be measured.
