Roy’s Blog: “Purim”

Esther 9:19 “Make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a holiday for rejoicing and feasting and sending portions of food to one another.”

The book of Esther in the Bible turns the day meant for the destruction and death of the Jewish people into a day of celebrating life. This celebration is called “Purim.” At the risk of her own life Esther spoke to the King and saved her people (Israel) from destruction.

This year is unique in that Purim falls during a super moon, and, it coincides with the spring equinox. A super moon appears roughly 14% larger in diameter and up to 30% brighter than normal.  This Purim super moon in the final in a series of three consecutive full/super moons–January, February, and now March.

It reminds us that God takes care of His people Israel (He placed Esther in the right place at the right time), and He will take care of us. There are no “impossible situations” with God.
