Roy’s Blog: “Lost”

Hebrews 13:5 (NLT) God has said, “I  will never fail you. I will not abandon you.”

Many years ago a friend of mine came up with the idea of spending the night in a tent on his grandfather’s property. It was way down in a large bottom area miles from anything. Squirrel season had just started, so we loaded up our guns, sleeping bags, the tent, and of course some snacks.

The sun came up the next morning to a cold glorious day of adventure. We walked away from our tent carrying our guns, our pockets filled with snacks. We walked for miles and saw crows, cows, mosquitoes as big as cows, but no squirrels. Around lunch time, I asked my friend if he knew where we were and he said he did. A couple of miles later, he admitted he was lost. We spent the rest of the day trying to find our way out. Squirrels forgotten, fun just a memory, guns getting heavier and heavier.

Are you carrying a heavy load, joy just a memory? Do you feel lost and alone? I am so glad that in my trials and on my trails of life, the Lord directs my path. He promised never to leave me or forsake me. The burden is lifted.

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.”
