Roy’s Blog: “What Is Your Life?”

James 4:14 (KJV) “What is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

How you define your life determines the paths you take. Your perspective influences how you spend your time, spend your money, and use your talents.

The way you see yourself is your life metaphor. It’s the view of life that you hold. Also, it’s your description of how life works and what you can expect from it. Your life metaphor determines your expectations, your values, your relationships, your goals, and your priorities.

If your view of life is the here and now, that when you die you’re thrown into a grave and that’s the end, you live your life in a way that’s self motivated. It is geared toward doing what you want, enjoying the worldly pleasures, no thought of tomorrow. You don’t believe in God, or if you do, you think He has no involvement in your life.

What is your view of life? Most need to replace their faulty life view with what the Bible says in Romans 12:2 “Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”
