Roy’s Blog: “Life on Purpose”

2 Corinthians 4:17 (NASB) “For momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.”

God has purpose behind every problem. He uses circumstances to develop our character. Jesus warned us that we would have trials in the world. No one gets through life problem free. We live in a fallen world with a character flawed by sin.

God could have kept Joseph from being sold into slavery and could have kept him out of jail. He could have prevented Daniel from being thrown into the lion’s den, Jeremiah from being tossed into a slimy pit, Paul from being shipwrecked three times, and kept Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fiery furnace–but He didn’t. He let those problems happen to transform circumstances for His glory, then and now.

God’s plan and purpose for your life involves all that happens to you, including your hurts and illnesses, your mistakes and choices. The good, the bad, and the ugly. God can bring good out of the worst of problems.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
