I Corinthians 9:24 “Run in such a way that you may win.”
It seems as if everyone is running somewhere. They run around the trail for exercise, but at the end of the trail they end up right where the started. Also, it seems everyone is going somewhere when you try to get across town. What should take a few minutes ends up taking an hour.
The other day a short trip ended up being a long journey, and at the end of it, I’m not even sure where I went.
Paul understood how life finds us running to and fro and getting nowhere. He’d watched the Olympic Games at Athens and the Isthmian games at Corinth. He exhorted the early Christian church that they run their race in life with direction, following the rules set forth by God, so that they may win.
