John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.”
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But, small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.”
Ever find yourself going the wrong way on a one-way street? Then, you try to find a place to turn around and can’t find one? It can be scary. Maybe, there was another road you could have taken but this one was wider and looked nicer to travel. But, it was the wrong road.
I remember, years ago, we were going to Livingston to the Indian Reservation. After traveling a long way, I realized I had taken the wrong road. We were near Center, Texas. I hadn’t really paid attention to where I was headed because I was too busy talking and thinking about the fun we were going to have. I messed up. We were way off track. I stopped and (finally) checked the map, found where I should have gone, and got back on the right road. Other than a little wasted time, it didn’t really matter.
So many are traveling the wrong way and need to get on the right road, the narrow road that leads to life. The directions are in the Bible. The wrong way is not just a little wasted time–it has eternal consequences.
