Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
I see it all the time. Many people can be well fed, yet they are spiritually starving. Even from a casual encounter you know something is missing in their lives. Everything may seem fine on the surface, but true peace eludes them.
The woman at the well is an example of someone who felt empty. She was searching for something or someone to complete her. She had been divorced multiple times and was currently living with a man who was not her husband.
I can only imagine how she must have felt when Jesus asked about her husband. But, instead of condemning her, Jesus offered to fill her life with living water. Through His life she would be satisfied and the emptiness would be gone.
We can’t be truly satisfied unless the Lord has priority in our lives. In Him, we find true contentment.
