Roy’s Blog: “Live Expectantly”

Isaiah 64:4 “For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!

Many times, God tests our faith through delays. If every prayer were immediately answered, every need automatically solved, we wouldn’t need any faith.

God wants us to continue in faith through problems, heartaches, and delays. He has said He will bring good from all things. Sometimes He tests us, not to find out because He already knows, but to show us how we become stronger through having that lasting faith. We should live our lives expecting God to keep His promises to provide, in His timing.

A good example in the Bible is the children of Israel. When they came out of Egypt, they could have made it to the promise land in a matter of two to three weeks. But it took them forty years to get there. Why?

Isaiah 64:4 says, God works for those who wait for Him. He kept testing their faith, and they kept failing. They weren’t waiting for God to work. A bump in the road would come along and they would wail and cry, saying they should have stayed in Egypt. Instead of waiting on God, they would fix the problem- in their own way.

If you are waiting in faith, God is working!

If I truly want to learn to live by faith, I must learn to rejoice continually, I must learn to obey immediately, and I must learn to wait patiently.
