John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
There’s a lot of chaos and tribulation happening in the world today. Even the most stout-hearted person can be overcome by fear and anxiety after just a few minutes of watching the news.
The first Christians faced deadly persecution because of the faith, but they didn’t allow oppression to stifle the truth of the gospel. Many were faced with martyrdom, but didn’t allow the fear to stand in their way of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
As Christians today, we need to remember that no matter what is happening in the world around us our hope is in Jesus Christ.
Grief and heartache, fear and turmoil can shatter our faith if we let it. But we need to remember “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” I John 4:4
