Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
The children of Israel had the presence of God with them as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, yet they murmured and complained all the time. They forgot God could lead them through their difficulties into the Promised Land. They were missing the obvious.
In a similar way the disciples in Jesus day, did the same thing. They all got into a boat, and when a great storm arose and the waves were splashing over the side of the boat, they were afraid they would drown. But, Jesus was asleep. They woke Him saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!”
He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” (Matthew 8:24-26). They missed the obvious. God was with them.
We do the same thing today. When we look for solutions to our problems, we miss the obvious. Look around; remember all the Lord’s marvelous works, all the things He has provided. He is in the boat with us, or traveling through the desert through unknown lands. We have nothing to worry about when He is beside us all the way, night or day. Even when we come to the end of our road. He is there with us.
