2 Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
This scripture pinned by Peter is intriguing and informative. The prophetic passage gives us a glimpse into God’s eternal plan, when it is compared to the creation week found in Genesis 1:1-2,3.
The seven days of creation typify the seven thousand years assigned by God for mankind; six thousand years of human history climaxed by the one thousand year reign of Christ.
I, and many others, believe we are in the very last hours of the sixth day (or six thousand years) and ready to go into day seven (the last one thousand years of God’s plan). This “seventh day” or thousand years, corresponds to God’s resting on the seventh day and is a picture of the Lord’s Millennial Kingdom in Revelation 20:1-10.
Creation week, I believe, laid out a prophetic timeline outlined in Genesis, the first book of the Bible, tying it to Revelation, the last book of the Bible.
The coming of the Lord is near the horizon! Prepare!
