2 Corinthians 4:18b “For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
Everywhere I look, the things we’ve assumed would always be constant have shifted. Try to find a full service gas station–near impossible. Even our governing institutions have failed us. They can’t even conduct an election right. Civil discourse is anything but civil. The economic engines of the world are broken.
Even the weather, which was predictably unpredictable, has gone way out of its way sideways and has produced record breaking tropical storms; hurricanes past the normal date and number.
Because of the pandemic, many churches are closed, and some may never open up again. Nothing–apart from God–is stable anymore. But even in the upheaval, we are witnessing the Holy Spirit at work.
The church doors may be closed but heaven’s door is open wide! Meditate on the Word of God, not on the news media. Allow your heart to rest on the sure foundation that cannot be moved.
“On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand.” (From the hymn written by Edward Mote in 1834). Matthew 7:24
