Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
The Bible is a book filled with prophecy proven by history. Still, we all need evidence as we look around us every day in order to live a life strong in faith. Because we are weak and not focused on God.
We operate in a world where we have to have faith every day. We have faith in gravity. We know from the time we are little kids that if we jump off something high, we’re going down. We have faith that when we put our foot on the ground we won’t go flying off into space. We’ve seen the evidence of gravity and that it works and have faith in its properties. This doesn’t mean we know why or how it works; we just know that it does. Faith doesn’t mean all your questions are answered. That’s actually where faith comes in to play.
You might not have a clue why flipping a light switch causes the light to come on, but you flip the switch. You have faith that if the power is on the light should come on, because you’ve experienced it–seen it happen before. There is a difference in pure faith.
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” If you know God and His Word, then you know God’s nature. If He says something is true or something will happen, you can have faith in it even without seeing any evidence, because you trust the source.
Two amazing things about faith. (1) A little goes a long way. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed…nothing will be impossible for you.” (2) Faith is not something you psych yourself up to. It is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
Remember: God gives faith for living. Our part is to choose to have faith. Step out in faith today.
