Roy’s Blog: “Fret Is A Four-Letter Word” in a new tab)

Isaiah 26:4 “Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.”

Fretting is assuming a responsibility that was never intended to be ours. It’s like a three year-old wringing their hands over the mortgage when Dad’s bank account has an abundance. In times like these we can go about the business of life with confidence because our heavenly Father has an abundance of all the things we need. He knows those needs and will supply them even before we are aware of them. And when we do ask, he showers us in that abundance.

Anxious thoughts will assault us, and when they do, remember this promise, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts you.” Isaiah 26:3

The real need for our anxiety filled world isn’t well stocked shelves, money, or even health; it is peace with God. The kind of peace that “passeth all understanding”. Philippians 4:7

You interact daily with some people that have never even opened a Bible. It’s true. They may have heard a few verses, but there was no actual connection with them to God. John 3:16 at a football game is an example.

Don’t fret. In the discourse of life, show the Bible through your life, your actions. Show them how you can have peace and hope in this crazy, lost world.
