Isaiah 24:20 “The earth reels to and fro like a drunkard. And it totters like a shack. For its transgression is heavy upon it, and it will fall, never to rise again.”
It’s easy when we are younger to injure a shoulder, a knee, or a back…wait a few days and they usually get better and we go on. As we get older those injuries aren’t so easy to get over, and we may try to put off doing something about the injury (therapy or surgery). But, there comes a time when you have to face the fact that it isn’t going to get better on its own.
We above all people should not be surprised at the state of our world, our country. It has been festering for many years with sin and degradation. We turned a blind eye to many things, let little things go we should have dealt with at the time, and now we realize it’s at a critical point. Our country is being transformed before our very eyes into something our forefathers wouldn’t even recognize. (One even I don’t recognize from just a few years ago.)
But, it’s not unexpected. The Lord always reminds His people in advance of what is to happen. Amos 3:7 says, “Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.” Things are not falling apart; they are falling into place.
Everything we see from the lining up of countries against Israel, to the growing acceptance of globalism, to the pulling back of the United States as a force to be reckoned with, reminds us how close we are to the coming of the Lord.
