Hebrews 6:19-20a “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us…”
The one thing our world needs today is “The Anchor of Hope”. I believe Paul understood more than anyone who his anchor of hope was, and that was Jesus Christ. From beatings to shipwrecks, from his daily struggles to being held in prison for long periods of time, he had hope. Facing death many times, he still had hope, not in the world or the things the world could give him, but in the Lord, his anchor.
We all struggle daily, but many do not have an anchor. They drift like a leaf on the water, driven by the wind this way and that; searching for something or someone to give them safe harbor. They only find disappointment, rejection, and fear.
Paul faced many disappointing days, days when even friends abandoned him. But, he was never disappointed when he clung to his anchor Jesus Christ. You will face all the trials and tragedies the world throws at you, but you will never face a day adrift without hope if you trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your Anchor.
