Romans 8:25 “But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.”
This is what it’s all about. Are you eagerly waiting for Christ’s return? If you are not born again and eagerly waiting for His return, you will be left behind. Your final destination will not be heaven.
I can remember those long school days. “Way back then” you didn’t get all the breaks kids do now. It was a long haul between Christmas and the end of school, with just a couple of days off at Easter. I eagerly awaited the summer break. Those three months were golden. The last few days of school it was hard to focus on schoolwork, the excitement of being free was so great.
Of course, we have all eagerly awaited a visit from dear relatives we haven’t seen in a while. Or children anticipate Christmas with excitement. I know some women who anticipate putting up their Christmas tree (in November) and decorating their homes for the holidays.
The point is we eagerly wait for things we want, things we desire. Those that are not born again through the blood of Christ are not eagerly awaiting His return. If they believe the Bible at all, they should dread His return.
The more we see happening in our world today, that lines up with biblical prophecy, the more we should be excited and eagerly waiting for His return. We don’t know the day or hour, but we know it must be soon, because we are the generation that will be living at the time of Christ’s return.
