Roy’s Blog: “Sick”

Psalm 51:17 “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

What do we do when we get really sick? We go to a doctor or an ER, looking for answers…and help. I remember a few years ago being sick, not a normal sick, like fever and an upset stomach, but something didn’t feel right. I finally broke down at midnight and went to the ER. Sure enough, I had an aneurysm that was leaking blood into the back of my brain. I have no memory of the next three weeks after that first few minutes of that night in the ER. Probably a good thing I don’t remember. I’m just glad I sought help from the ones that could help me, since I could not help myself.

As I look at the world today…it is sick! Not a sickness that a doctor can help with. No medication is going to heal it. It won’t get better with time and a bowl of chicken soup. It needs the Great Physician and the healing power of the blood of the Lamb.

We need to fall on our faces before the Lord asking forgiveness for our sins. Walk in His ways, seek His face, PRAY…and He will hear from heaven and heal our land. Our condition is critical, and we need the Lord. Pray for our world.
