Roy’s Blog: “Open Door”

Matthew 25:11-13 (NASB) “Later the other virgins also came, saying ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say unto you, I do not know you.’ Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.”

Nothing compares to the most important thing in this life and that is to make certain you are saved. The “Parable of the Ten Virgins” is a clear warning to those who think and feel like they are Christians, but do not have a true “born again” experience with Jesus Christ and have not truly prepared their lives by following Him.

The church is saturated with people that don’t know God. Most are good honest people, nice, friendly, and even generous. But they have no clue about the heart of God, the will of God, the plan of God, or the Word of God. The most recent survey of pastors showed only 37% had a born-again experience with Jesus Christ. For many, pastoring is a career choice, not a calling.

You can say the words, “Jesus is my Savior,” but do you truly know in your heart that He is? You can sing the choruses, “Jesus is the sweetest name I know”, and “Saved, saved, saved”, but are they true for you? Does your life have that transforming power that comes with a true relationship with the Savior?

In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.” The door is open, for now. Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call on Him now while He is near.”
